HOT

I couldn't golf with the gang on Saturday. I was in Bloomington helping with the new store. As hot as it was (97*+) I think I was better off with a paintbrush. But at least they asked me.

Played today as usual at Legends before work. My morning routine was noisy this morning. My phone rang at 5:30 for work. I then got up before 6 AM. I think the phone pluse me being up was enough to wake Nicholas a little after 6 AM. He turned on his tv and began working on an art project in his bed. That was probably enough to wake Garrett at almost 6:30 AM. I said goodbye to both of them and tried to sneak out before Lisa realized I woke both kids and left her with them. Except for the call from work I got everything ready the night before. I had my golf clothes out and clothes for the day in my bag and everything ready so I wasn't hunting around and making noise. Oh well.

The ground was mucky. It rained quite a bit on Sunday but they must have saturated it overnight. I wonder if that is water from the ponds? I started well before 7 AM and finished around 8 AM. There was standing water on the fairways and some of the greens so putting was a challenge but fixing ball craters was as easy as mushing the grass back in place.

I hit a 37 with a 2.3 putt average. I think I parred more than I double bogied. That is my goal for this year. The standing water on the greens made it like putting through tar. The 5th hole ate my lunch. I lost a bunch of balls in the water with my gap wedge 50*. I have no idea why that club didn't work for me. I struggled with this hole the other day. I finally got one over and in the weeds so I could play it.

One hole by the field frequenly has black muddy footprints across the green. Someone just had to get their ball from the field and play. I should bring my camera.
