I continue to work on my grip. I know I am squeezing my left hand too hard. The grip is still deliberate steps - grip with left hand and turn grip/club to adjust and then extend left thumb. Wrap right hand around left interlocking fingers. Slide thumb and forfinger out. Relax left hand. I've been shifting the club butt into the palm of my hand. Wonder if that is right.
I hit SW GW 9i 8i & 7i. Someone lef the PW out of the bag in the trunk so I had no PW. Hit a medium bucket. If I am going to be that slow and deliberate I might want fewer balls to hit. I was really pleased with the results. There were some misshits and lots of dirt flying but not enough to dampen my spirits. I don't think I have ever been this on target. I aimed for the red flag. The SW seemed to be about 90, the GW about 110, the 9i about 120 with a couple that bounced and rolled to 150. I even got the 8i to bounce and roll to about 175. While there were a few straight shots and most with a gentle curve left there were even a shot or two with a discernable curve to the right. Oddly enough that made me happy.
I did find my self wondering if a rangefinder would help. The only reason I would want one is to check the distances at the driving range.
Nicholas' & Garrett's golf friend took the station next to me. I can't tell if he is any good. He has his name on his bag if that means anything. I'm sure his driving range session was just to warm up before he played a round but I can't say he showed any skills. He seems like a big dumpy kid with too much time. Kind of like the dumpy kid in that golf movie with the gopher but I do Garrett's friend an injustice with that comparision.
