was moved to Wednesday to avoid conflicts with the work 4th of July picnic. Only Jim showed up so I gave him the basics and turned him loose with a couple of clubs. Started him with an iron but he wanted a softer grip so I gave him the lob wedge with the Winn W5 grip. He had a couple of decent to nice shots until he took a huge divot and started being shy about it. He hit the 3i and 5W and 3W for the rest of the small bucket. Mostly off to the right but some nice shots with good distance. His swing appears to be fast so maybe stiffer shafts would work better. Too bad Jason and Mike didn't show so Jim could have used the steel regular or stiff flex shafts.
I hit mostly with the 7i and 5i and the LW. I worked some shots out of the rough grass at the end of the driving range row and the rest from inside the ropes. All in all I was pleased with the 7i for distance and straightness. The 5i started to come around too toward the end of the bucket. I'm still stuggling some with the grip but not as much. I look forward to the lesson on Thursday to check what I have done to myself. I finished the bucket with some LW shots to the pin about 30 yards away.
