2011 Golf Lesson #1

This is not the one my wife bought me at the Charity event. I need to do that one too. I went to the instructor I used last year at Legends.

1) As I suspected he had me work at weakening my left hand. Somehow (I know how and Desperation I name you) I further developed my tendency for my left thumb to drift to 3 o'clock. I completely did not expect him to also have me weaken my right hand too. That makes for some pathetic shots.

2) I raise my left heel up on my back swing to the point of ending up on my toes before putting it back own as I complete my swing. I am not sure where that came from. Jeff said it is contributing to the hook.

3) My divots tended to be before the ball and just the toe ripping the grass. I need to work on moving the club up close to the ball at address and raising the toe by dropping the heel.

I talked to him about shaft flex. He too agreed that I should move up to "at least" regular flex shafts. I promise I won't go nutty with the "at least" part. I bought a set of the same clubs but regular flex from EBAY that I will hopefully will have before my next lesson on Thursday.

The videos Mike shot of my swing at DRT (Driving Range Thursday) showed the flaws Jeff had me work on.
