Round and a lesson

Played 9 at Legends before work today.  The skies were dark and threatening.  The dude I am usually ahead of was heading out as I pulled in so I followed him.  he kept a pretty good pace.  Some sprinkles when I was on 4 that died by the time I got to the end of 5.

Turned in a 46 with five 2 putts and four 3 putts.  Used the GW 2x, 7W 3x; SW 2x. 9i-PW 1x.  On the 9i shot i got about 145 for distance.  There were two balls lost in the water.  Kind of a frustrating round after how well the wiffle balls flew around my back yard.  Is that practice counter productive?

Finished 9 and went right to my lesson with Jeff.  It has been a while since my last lesson with Jeff.  I've had a couple of lessons since Jeff - one with Mickey and the other with Dan.  I liked the lesson with Mickey and am sorry he left the area.   He told me to lean and not squat and hold the club neutral.  Dan told me to lean and get closer to the ball.  Everyone tells me that.  I thought I was making progress.

Today I need to move closer to the ball.  I need to square my shoulders.  I need to lower my hands to raise the clubhead toe.  Seemed to be hitting only thin shots today.  Again, is that the fault of the wiffle ball sessions in my back yard.  Is that practice counter productive?  Rich said I closed my clubface which is true.  Jeff had me work on having the clubface open at address.

I tried to express my frustration with the offset on the clubs.  I swear Mickey said to have a neutral setup.  Dan didn't say a thing.  For Jeff I setup wtih my hands ahead of the clubface.  I told him that makes me feel like I am a mile (12"-18") ahead of the clubface.

I didn't walk away healed.  I have more work to do.  I was having such fun and had so much confidence.  What happened?
