first birdie of the season

Played Legends before work today.  Cloudy, cold, and breezy.  No one else was on the course with me.  As I finished I saw maintenance moving the tee boxes and holes.  Next week will be different.

Turned in a 48.  Hit the 9i 1x; PW 1x; GW 3x; 3i 2x; & 7i 1x; SW 1x.  It felt like a 48 with 4 penalties.  Still sending shots to the left.  Chipping sucked with several bladed chips.  I switched to my 7i.  Yarg.  I did setup a lesson for after my round on Monday.  I did have a real birdie on hole 4.  Might have been my first on that hole.  Hit a 3i to the place where the hole dog legs to the right.  I hit a nice SW pretty close and a nice 1P.

I had four 3 putts and three 2 putts, and two 1 putts.  Left one putt hanging on the cup lip.  Must be that mound effect on an old hole.  I have had trouble lately with longer putts when I can't see the hole in my peripheral vision when addressing the ball for my putt.  I'm putting them about four feet to the right of the hole.  I am better if I can see the hole and the ball when I am addressing the ball for my putt.  For the putts where the hole is outside my peripheral I started to aim my put at a spot ahead of the ball.  The first three holes were three putts as I fought myself.  After those three holds I had 12 putts for 6 holes.
