I was pleased with putting on such poor greens. It is only March 10th so of course the grass is dormant and there is goose poop and holes from animals digging.
Hole 1 - I hit a shot that rolled onto the green. Should have been a birdie but I left the putt on the lip.
Hole 2 - the ball landed on the right side towards the path to the next hole but not that bad. Distance was good and maybe the wind messed with the shot a bit. Probably not as much as I would like to blame it for.
Hole 3 - the ball landed on the right side but not bad. Distance was good and maybe the wind messed with the shot a bit. Probably not as much as I would like to blame it for.
Hole 4 - tee'd it low and hit the 3 wood. As I said before it would have been a perfect shot if the ground were harder and the grass a bit shorter. The ball didn't kick like I expected. But it was straight and pretty far and just what I wanted. My second shot landed on the green if you don't count the other second shot I made and ignored because I didn't adjust for the wind enough that time.
Hole 5 - over water and a ball eater for me even though it is like 90 yards max. The swing felt good though it did feel like I hit the ground and bounced into the ball. What ever it was landed the ball on the green and maybe should have been a birdie though that would require non-dormant grass.
Hole 6 - I struggle with this one. I think I had the right club for the distance and wind though I can't for the life of me figure out why I shoot straight to the right. It was as if the winter hadn't happened.
Hole 7 - I tee'd it low and hit the 3 wood. Almost made it over the water with the wind at my back. I would have tried a driver here but the single behind us was getting closer. The distance was good and the landing was nice. Just on the upside of the minor hill.
Hole 8 - too much club
Hole 9 - too much club though the shots felt like what I dream about at night.
