Bob and I joined a winter league at one of the stores in the area. Two person teams playing 9 holes each round. The score is based on the lowest score of the two for the hole. The simulator only has Cog Hill so one round is the front 9 and the next is the back 9. No putting. You get assessed putts based on number of feet from the pin when you end up on the green. That saves a bunch of time.
Bob said he could do it during the work week at lunch but turns out he couldn't so Jason and I have been going. I call Jason "Bob". Takes about an hour to play the round.
The simulator is pretty cool but doesn't seem to work well with the chip shots. Really frustrating to have the shots not register consistently. Too soft seems to not register. Too hard rockets them across the green. The up hill is also hard to adjust for. Your feet are still flat but on a real course the one would be below the other and swing would be different.
After 3 rounds we were in 4th place with 27 points. You get some points for every hole your team beats the other team. Jason and I have been turning in par or near par scores.
While playing the round the store lets us use other clubs. This time I tried a Adams F11 12* driver. Pretty cool. I also like the Adams 3W and 5W. These are the ones with the slot in them.
