Hit a medium bucket at lunch today. Another nice day. Switched from my fleece to my yellow windbreaker. There were two other people on the line.
I started with the PW/45* like normal but I felt stiff and the ball wasn't going as far. I hit a bunch more and never really got the feeling or the distance. Switched to the 5W with the normal to worse results. Same with the driver. Finished the bucket by hitting the SW/55. Those worked fairly well. I picked a target for an easy swing. I did ok, well enough to salvage the session.
Everyone knows that the best cure for a bad range session is a golf store. Bought two more grips like the one I have on my PW/45*. Not sure what clubs they are going on, maybe the GW/50* & SW/55*.
While I was at the store I bought two cleveland niblick wedges. One SW/56 & one GW/49*. Hit one of them in the net at the store. It seemed to swing well. They are steel shafts so we will see how that goes. They certainly do not blend into my iron set because they are steel and my irons are graphite and they don't match the 5* loft separation I currently have. I don't know that I must have but it is what I currently have. But for $20 each I can put them on EBAY.
