No School

Got up early and played 9 at Legends before work. Still pretty dark at 6:15 AM when I got up. Got to the course and started playing sometime after 7 AM. One of the regulars was finishing 9 when I started hole 1.

Unlike the last several rounds I managed to play all 9. People were starting to play as I was finishing so it was just me at my own leisurely pace. I had my usual trials and tribulations but it was a great morning.

Putting wasn't too bad at 2.1 per hole with the new (old) bermuda triangle atlantis putter. It is center shafted with a triangle above the blade of course. It is heavy and I cut it down and added a putter grip that has a bulge for the right hand. I am really excited about the feel and size of this putter. Putting was only a small part of my 43 round today. I was really close on many putts and even a few chips.

Hit my cut down taylormade burner 1 10.5 driver. I cut it down by around 3" and regripped it nearly killing myself taking the grip off using the aircompressor - think balloon. It was returned to me from an EBAY buyer because the shaft and grip was upside down. I hope it was spined and not just a hack job. Anyway I hit it about 175 but straight on hole 4 and 7. Babysteps.

I hit my 3i about 175 also. This one was on hole 6 into the sun. I had no idea where it went so I hit a second with a 5i and watched it a bit better. The 3i is the club I put the putter grip on. The grip has the flat front for my thumb alignment and a wide bulby area for the right hand. This is mostly just a lark but I do like having a place to put my thumbs consistently each time.
