can't get enough

Nicholas and I golfed 9 at Legends today. Lisa came home from Indy. We helped her unload her car at the store. Lots to price! Garrett was the kid who kept saying he missed mommy and couldn't sleep because mommy wasn't home so I figured he could grocery shop with her and Nicholas and I would play golf. It was in the mid 70s and pretty sunny - why not. Besides the boys were getting to the point where they have been together enough to start bickering. Guess G wasn't done with his brother. He acted like the tired one instead of Nicholas who was up at 5 AM asking if he could watch movies in bed. Go figure.

N and I were going to play 9 at Stone Creek but they had a tournament or something that backed everything up. We weren't willing to wait an hour to get on the course so we went to Legends. N handled that disappointment very well.

I have to say this was one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf ever. N got a bit upset about having some troubles on hole two. He was in the taller grass just off the fairway and kept hitting it about 10' for three shots or so in a row. I got a little mad at him and lectured him on golf is supposed to be fun and we try harder and nice day and sun etc. To his credit N changed his tune. He did ask me to not tell anyone about the 11 on the hole because it embarrassed him. Deal.

I am fighting a non-stop campaign for N to switch drivers. It is like 8" too short for him. We borrowed a driver from the clubhouse that fits him now. He whomped it 110 down the middle. Still he isn't convinced. N doesn't like change. He may play this orange size one driver when he is on the PGA tour. :) Once N figures out how to aim he will be dangerous. Funny thing is me trying to help him with aim. That is irony.

I had a nice round too. We played the browns or where they should be except for hole 7 where we played the tan but that is still 200. For some reason my 5i on hole 6 decided to go 183. I caught it just right. Stopped on the back of the green. I punched the Mashie out 140 and 160. I said "oh crud" as I wasn't exactly aimed at the pin so I almost ran out of fairway. It went long, reasonably high, and nice and straight. That was off a tee. I have high hopes for the Mashie. Turned in a 37 with no penalties and some poor putting and one GIR. Still a great day with my son.
