Finally a sunny with a capitol S sunny day. It started out sunny and then was cloudy but got nice and sunny (did you get the idea yet that it was sunny?) by the time I got to Legends to play 9. Bob was supposed to go with me so I waited until 11:30 but he didnt have clubs, was in jeans, and had work to do so I went.
The course was a little crowded ahead of me but there was never anyone behind me. I entertained myself hitting some extra balls and hunting for balls on several holes so I didn't run up on the pair ahead of me. They had people ahead of them. I found over a dozen balls lost a bunch. Kind of wish I still had the 35" putter for the extra reach.
My bag had 3i-9i PW GW SW LW C Putter 3H and 1H. I did fire up the igolf Bushnell NEO to get some shot distance data. I walked with the pull cart. On the first hole I had to wait for a new hole to be cut. Nothing like putting into a fresh newly cut hole.
High optimism on the hole 1 par with the 1 put and nice chip with the new chipper. Followed by low depression when the 7i shots on the 2nd hole made the usual big reverse C arc. The 9i did the same thing on hole 3. On the par 4 hole 4 I hit the 3i 191 yards according to GPS. I didn't go back as far on the back swing. While I didn't have that same distance with the 3i on hole 7 I did manage to suck less.
I went back to the putter I had planned on using for this season and putt pretty well with it. Of all the 2 putt shots (8 of them) three were garbage that I should not have missed. I sold the Heavy Putter. I am selling the Ping putter. This is the Odyssey Rossie (?) that I cut down a bit and regripped. I like it. There are other putters that feel good in the store but I keep going back to this one.
With the waiting and drive time it took me about 2 hours. It was hot. Probably in the 70's hot but sunny. I was in lighter pants and a heavier short sleeved shirt so I was a little drippy in my britches. Entered my scores in OOBGOLF.
Waiting for me at work when I got back was a Nike CPR hybrid 4H 26*. I think I like the look of it because it is red and silver and has a cross on it like a swiss army knife. This is the swiss army knife of utility clubs! Guess I will see
