Big boy golf

Played 9 holes at Stone Creek in Urbana IL this morning after dropping off Nicholas at school.  Course was wide open.  No one ahead of me and no one behind.  Probably because it was in the 50*s and a bit breezy.  Not sure why I took a cart but I did.  First shot with the 3W off the tee was an exciting 189.  To think I almost didn't put it in the bag but then it fell apart on me for the next seven holes.  In fact most clubs betrayed me.    I just don't get it.  Does the course intimidate me?  Did the grounds crew bother me?  I know I got lost on the transition from hole 4 to hole 5 but that is the one flaw in the course design.  Putting feels like it sucks but I am not sure it is really any worse than any other time.  I am still trying to figure out distances on the LW.  I managed to put it back together for the 9th hole where I hit the 3W 160 and was quite happy about that over the crud I served up on the previous holes.  The clubs just seemed to work on that hole.  Almost tempted to play 9 more but I was running out of time and I was starting to feel tired.
